About the Gardens

The gardens were designed and created by Garry and Julie Edwards, who planted their roots on the property in 2014. Garry’s passion for gardening began at eight years old, guided by his grandad and father—both devoted gardeners.

From day one, the work was hands-on: clearing land, testing soil, and establishing the first garden area along with a small growing space that would later supply the rest of the property.

In the seasons that followed, Garry and Julie focused on shaping the landscape—carving winding pathways, building natural stone features, and forming gentle rises and slopes to guide how visitors move through the gardens.

One of their biggest projects was the pond, designed as both a wildlife habitat and a visual centerpiece. Dug and lined with local stone and native plants, it required precise leveling, careful water-flow management, and repeated replanting to help it blend naturally into its surroundings.

As the gardens matured, that small initial planting expanded into a connected seven-acre landscape, where sheltered nooks open into broad meadow views.

Through years of hands-on work and experimentation, Garry and Julie came to know the land intimately—choosing plants, growing what they needed, and nurturing each area as it evolved. Pathways were rebuilt, hedges shaped into living walls, and water-management improvements were added so the gardens could thrive through rainy springs and hot, dry summers.
